The youth Agenda

Image
I was privileged to attend the Murang’a Student Association's inaugural event yesterday. I was amazed at the number of young leaders invited to the event. Murang’a deputy governor Hon. Stephen Mburu Munania, Murang’a county woman rep Betty Maina, former Roots party deputy presidential candidate Justina Wamae, Charles Karondo, Kiambu county speaker Hon John Njiru MCA Hospital Ward in Thika, among other members of county government of Murang’a. Without forgetting the M-CUSA nation chairman Pharis Jane. It was good to see presidents of various campuses and leaders of multiple associations unite to celebrate one of the important associations in the Mt Kenya Colleges and Universities Students Association.   David Mbuthia pose for a selfie with Justina Wamae It was a successful day when the new leaders were sworn in, and the mantle passed peacefully by the outgoing team. Ruto Economics. Solution to our Economic Crisis or Not

Image
Months after being sworn into office after a hotly contested presidential election, Ruto implemented his bottom-up economic agenda. He was brave enough to drop the ongoing maize floor subsidy that the Jubilee government had previously implemented as an intervention to lower its price. President Ruto explained that it was not sustainable for the country to continue subsidizing consumption and felt it was time to subsidize production. In economics, that was spot on. Months later, President Ruto posted a photo in his large garden where he planted maize with subsidized fertilizer, just like any other farmer. The photo shows that the maize is about to mature, and it seems the dream of stabilizing the price of maize floor in the country is almost. The big que...

President Ruto's Best Decision Amid Fuel and Economic Crises in Kenya.

The Kenyan economy needs a profound reawakening as it is among the economies at risk of collapsing. What do you do to a sick buddy you wish could recover as soon as possible? Do you administer bitter herbs because they are known to cure such a complication, or do you give them sweet food and drinks, knowing very well they will not improve their situation? Or rather, do you give such bitter herbs to such an ailing friend because you don't care anymore? The answer is NO. Sometimes the best solution comes with sacrifice. On the 13th of September, 2022, His Excellency Dr. William Ruto suspended the imposed subsidy on fuel prices, raising issues among ordinary Kenyans. Most of them are bitter about the decision because it further raises living standards across the country. An increase in fuel prices directly affects essential commodities, including food, housing, transport, and farm inputs, among others. However, president Ruto was brave enough to administer a bitter pill to Kenya...
